Ski season in Canada runs from November through April with a few variances depending on local climate. Alberta and British Columbia have a longer ski season and can run as long as the end of June. Skiing in Canada is broken into two areas – the West and East. The West means British Columbia (ex. Whistler, Grouse Mountain) and Alberta (ex. Lake Louise Mountain Resort, Sunshine Village, and Mt. Norquay), and the East covers Quebec and some of Ontario. All provinces offer some skiing, but the hills can be considered quite small for the avid skier.
Quebec’s main ski areas are Quebec City, the Laurentians, and the Eastern Townships. Early booking for unique hotels, ski packages, or group travel is best started at least 6 months in advance.
